2020 INTERNATIONAL VIRTUAL NURSING RESEARCH WORKSHOP

Please join us for the 2020 INTERNATIONAL VIRTUAL NURSING RESEARCH WORKSHOP organized by Emory University with a co-partnership with both the Asian American Pacific Islander Nurses Association (AAPINA) and the National Coalition of Ethnic Minority Nurses Association (NCEMNA). The 2020 International Nursing Research Workshop on the Impact of COVID19 will bring together thought leaders to discuss the impact of COVID-19 on nursing research and propose directions for future nursing research. Join us for this virtual event — the first of its kind — November 30, 2020. Registration is free and attendees to this CNE activity will be awarded 13 contact hours upon completion of the evaluation and attending 100 percent of the activity. No conflict of interest has been found with the speakers for this CNE activity nor with the members of the planning committee.

AAPINA National is Seeking Nominations for President-Elect & Secretary

President-Elect: The Special election for the President-Elect position requires the elected member to serve for the remaining term (one year, until December 31, 2021), followed by taking on the President’s role for another two years and finally, serving as the Past-President for two additional years. Duties and responsibilities of the President -Elect are outlined in the AAPINA Bylaws.

Secretary: The Secretary requires the elected member to serve for two years and is limited to two consecutive terms. Duties and responsibilities of the Secretary are outlined in the AAPINA Bylaws.

Eligibility/Qualifications:

According to the AAPINA Bylaws (sent via email to active members only), nominees must meet the following qualifications. These qualifications will be used for screening the candidates (nominees):

  • A nominee for an elective office shall be a member in good standing at least one (1) year prior to election.
  • A member in good standing is one whose current dues are paid (national and if applicable, local dues), who complies with the provisions of the Bylaws, and has full voting rights and privileges.
  • The nominee must have demonstrated active participation in activities of AAPINA for at least one year.
  • A nominee may be a candidate for only one office at any given time, and if holding an elected office, may not be a candidate for another office unless the current term expires at the time of elections.

If you are an active member of AAPINA National and you would like to nominate an individual who meets the eligibility/qualifications for the elected position, please complete the Nomination Form emailed to you and send to the Nominating Committee at aapinanominations20.21@gmail.com by October 5, 2020 at 5:00pm Pacific Standard Time (PST).

Call for Papers – APINJ Special Issue: Mental Health Issues in API

Special Issue: Mental Health Issues in API Community (Deadline October 31, 2020)

This special issue will feature articles related to mental health issues among Asian Pacific Islander communities. We welcome manuscripts from researchers, practitioners, educators, and policy makers from all countries who are interested in disseminating new nursing knowledge and practices for Asian and Pacific Islanders. Original and empirical studies using qualitative, quantitative, or mixed-methods approaches are welcome. We also welcome systematic reviews and meta-analyses. For this special issue, we are particularly interested in the following topics:
 Epidemiology
 Cross-cultural or transnational issues
 Interventions tailored for API communities
 Special considerations in designing and implementing research, education, practice and policy programs for API communities
 Other related topics

Asian/Pacific Island Nursing Journal is the only journal focused specifically on health and health care of and for Asian Pacific Islander community. This journal publishes peer-reviewed articles that include, but are not limited to:
 Methods, interventions, instrumentation, and educational techniques that are unique to Asian Pacific Islanders.
 Theoretical foundations that increase understanding of the unique response to changes in health and illness in Asian Pacific Islanders.
 Bio psychosocial, spiritual, and ecological impacts on practice, education, and research.
 Policy issues as a result of rigorous research outcomes.

Author Guidelines
All submitted papers must be written in English and contain only original work, which has not been published by or is currently under review at another journal (electronic or print).

Article Processing Charge

There is no charge for submitting a paper to Asian/Pacific Island Nursing Journal.

Upon acceptance of your manuscript, you will be charged a one-time Article Processing Charge of $300. Members of Asian American Pacific Islander Nurses Association Inc. will receive a discounted rate of $200.
