AAPINA of Nevada
Goal Statement:
The goal of the Nevada Chapter of the Asian American Pacific Islander Nurses Association (AAPINA) is to unify AAPINA nurses in Nevada, and to facilitate and promote networking and to develop collaborative partnerships between professional nurses, nurse researchers, nurse educators, advanced practice nurses, and nursing students and community affiliates with the sole purpose of identifying the healthcare needs of AAPIs and optimizing resources to promote healthy living and better their lives.
Our strategies to achieve this goal are:
1. Identifying AAPI community needs through research, education, and practice
2. Creating opportunities for serving the AAPI community via
- Health Fair
- Healthy Mondays radio program to promote health and wellness
- Health blogs that can influence healthy behavior
3. Facilitating and promoting networking and collaborative partnerships
- with AAPINA Student Association
- with other organizations who serve the AAPI population
- and Mentorship programs for scholarship and career/leadership advancement
4. Influencing health policy through individual and community actions through
- Involvement in petitions for health-care initiative
- Supporting political leaders who support our mission and vision
