AAPINA North Carolina

Welcome to the AAPINA North Carolina Chapter!

Goal Statement

The goals of the AAPINA-NC are to build a strong network for Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) nurses, advanced practice nurses, nursing students, nurse researchers, and nursing educators across North Carolina. We strive to foster professional growth, encourage collaboration, and create a welcoming space where members can support one another, address workplace challenges, and develop shared strategies for coping with work-related stress and experiences such as discrimination, bias, microaggressions, and racism.

Goal 1: Build and strengthen a statewide network that connects AAPI nurses, advanced practice nurses, nursing students, nurse researchers, and nurse educators across North Carolina to foster meaningful relationships and mutual support.
Goal 2: Create and sustain a welcoming, inclusive, and culturally affirming community where AAPI nursing professionals and students feel seen, valued, and supported in sharing experiences and navigating workplace challenges.
Goal 3: Provide an empowering environment where members can share experiences, address workplace challenges, and collectively develop strategies to cope with discrimination, bias, microaggressions, racism, and work-related stress.

Our Activities

Our strategies to achieve this goal are:
a. Hosting networking events to connect with members and share knowledge.
b. Providing professional development resources that support growth in both academic and clinical practice.
c. Creating peer support groups to promote well-being and resilience.
d. Partnering with local and national organizations to strengthen advocacy for AAPI nurses.
e. Organizing community outreach and health promotion activities that reflect the needs of local communities.
