Accepting applications for 2017 Okura Mental Health Leadership Program

AAPINA is inviting applications for the 2017 Okura Mental Health Leadership Program. The program aims to provide mentorship to promising API nurses interested in the mental health needs of Asian American and Native Hawaiian and Other Pacific Islanders. Specifically, the mentorship program is geared to develop leaders in mental health field through research, and clinical practice. The Okura Mental Health Leadership Program will be held in Honolulu on March 24, 2017. Deadline for application is December 10, 2016.

Eligibility criteria for Fellows (Mentee):

  • Membership to AAPINA
  • Must be willing to attend and contribute to the annual leadership seminar and mentorship program.
  • Demonstrated evidence or promising professional achievement in mental health area

Eligibility Criteria for Mentors include:

  • Evidence of research and/or scholarly productivity in areas related to mental health of Asian American and Pacific Islanders. Evidence in this area includes grants, publications and presentations in conferences.
  • Evidence of advanced practice or leadership position in sites that provide mental health services to AANHPI. Evidence in this area includes advance certifications in practice and/ or administration, successful mentorship, publications and presentations.
  • Membership to AAPINA
